Oral Health Education
Dr Marjani is committed to improving access to oral health education, particularly for communities that face barriers to care.
Her work has included developing an oral health education initiative for psychiatric inpatients, recognising the often-overlooked oral health needs within mental health settings. This programme focused on improving understanding of oral health, prevention and self-care among patients within inpatient facilities.
Building on this work, Dr Marjani founded SMILEquity, an initiative dedicated to improving access to oral health education and increasing awareness of the links between oral health and overall wellbeing.
Through community education and public engagement, her work aims to support greater understanding of preventive oral health and empower individuals with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their health.
Oral health remains one of the most common unmet healthcare needs globally, yet it is often overlooked within wider discussions about health and wellbeing. Through education and community engagement, Dr Marjani advocates for greater awareness of oral health as an essential component of overall health.
